About Us:

CJWS is a voluntary organization working for the poor and the depressed community in the society. It focuses on Rural Poor People, Urban migrated people and Coastal fisher folk community of Nellore District. Chaitanya Jyothi Welfare Society was started in the year 1990. This society has certain objectives and registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 having its registration number 48/90. More than two decades the organization is rendering its services to the sufferers of the society. CJWS undertakes activities/projects related to ‘right to development’, ‘Right to Survival’, ‘Right to Participation’, and ‘Right to Protection’ for the marginalized sections of the society. CJWS has been actively involved in women empowerment programs, savings and credit programs, fisher folk development, Eco development, Watershed Management, Disaster Management and Sustainable agriculture, Promotion of Artisans and prevention of HIV/AIDS and awareness programs.

How it works?

For every development work community involvement is more important. CJWS with a committed force of motivated staff has been implementing all the activities through community based approach such as self-help promotion through their institutionalization. The society holds a healthy relationship and high confidence amongst the district administration, other Government authorities and other funding agencies. For every new project it builds a good rapport with the people. Because people should know that the welfare measure are taken only for them and not for others. So there should be a greater involvement of the community.

Objectives of CJWS:

  • To make the people to be aware about STD, HIV/AIDS, hygienic health.
  • To sustain the needy groups through Income generating activities by using advanced technologies and digitalization
  • To provide Psycho-social support, treatment of Opportunistic infections and Nutrition supplement support to infected persons and infected children.
  • To build the capacity trainings for SHG Members, service providers, and village development committee on various social economic issues
  • To empower the Persons with Disabilities on their Rights and Livelihoods
  • To Promote the Handicraft Artisans

  • To eradicate on Child Labour in the Society
  • To Sensitize the Communities on Protection and Promotion of Child Rights
  • To provide alternative livelihoods to adolescent children.
  • To Promote and strengthen community based microfinance institution
  • To Protect and Promote the Eco-Development and Watershed Management
  • To Generate sufficient resource base (internal and external)
  • To Attain institutional sustainability through Community Involvement and Empowerment
  • To empower the vulnerable communities to address the Natural and Manmade Disasters through Community Based Approach – Disaster Management
  • To Promote Farmer Groups through implantation of Sustainable Agriculture
